Hello! And welcome to River Cove. You're probably wondering what you're getting yourself into, so let me ask you this:

Have you ever had money questions, but didn't know where to go for answers? Ever felt that you're working hard, but don't know how to gauge if you're on track to retire someday? Does thinking about taxes make you mildly nauseous? You might just be in the right place.

I'm Brian Mills, the Founder of River Cove Financial. I became an advisor because I never had one. River Cove is for people seeking clarity in a noisy world. It is my mission to provide access to the information most people never get along the way.

Here's how it works. Start with a 20-minute Fit Check to talk about your goals and make sure we're a good fit. Next, you'll get a written quote, with estimated hours and total cost before any commitment. If you're on board, we'll book a 60-90 minute Discovery Call to get all the details about your financial life. Then, I'll create a customized plan specific to you and your questions. About a week later, we'll meet again to review the plan, any recommendations and clear next steps.

Let's talk cost. I'm a fee-only planner. That means I don't sell investments or insurance products, and I don't earn commissions. There's no asset minimum and no hidden fees. You'll know exactly what you're paying before we get started. It's a different way of doing things but hey, that's probably why you're here.

If that sounds like what you've been looking for, book a Fit Check below. You bring the questions. I'll bring the answers. I'm excited to meet you soon.

Who is the typical River Cove client?

Self-employed people and business owners

Athletes receiving NIL deals, content creators, 1099 contractors and consultants, sole proprietors and small-business owners. We help you navigate the challenges that come with running solo.

  • Your income changes month to month, so budgeting feels like guessing.
  • You're not sure how much to set aside for taxes, or when to pay it.
  • You want to set up a retirement account but don't know what the options are.

The DIY crowd

People still in their wealth-building years, and anyone who's been told they need more money saved before an advisor will talk to them. River Cove was built on the idea that a lot of people have questions about money but don't know who to ask, don't know what to ask, or don't want to be sold something. They want answers and a roadmap to financial security, whether they're just getting started, starting over or closing in on retirement.

What is a fee-only financial planner?

A fee-only planner is paid only by the client, not by commissions on investment or insurance products. At River Cove, you pay an hourly fee that's quoted before any work begins. No product recommended to you changes what River Cove is paid.
